Research Abstract in Education Program Evaluation

The Quality Improvement Program to International Level School in SMA 1 Denpasar is expected effective to improve the education quality in this school, but there is no scientific and authentic evidences yet which show this expectation has satisfied. So the aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of Quality Improvement Program of SMA 1 Denpasar to International Level School. Program evaluation model used is CIPP which’s evaluates a program from context, input, process and output sides.
There are three main problems that will be solved throughout this research, are that : how is the SMA 1 Denpasar community insight about the Quality Improvement Program of SMA 1 Denpasar to International Level School?, what is the level of program implementation related to some parts of the program ? and is there different level of both mathematics and science achievement between the students who follow teaching-learning process in international program and the students in conventional program ?
Data collecting method used in this research are interview, observation, documents record and test. Interview is used to collect data about School community insight of Quality Improvement Program of SMA Negeri 1 Denpasar, Observation and document research for data of program implementation and test is used for data of students achievement. To analyze this collected data used suitable method regarding data types collected, are that : qualitative descriptive analysis for interview results , quantitative descriptive analysis for the data of observations and documents record and statistics analysis with one raw ANACOVA test for data of students achievement.
The result of data analysis show that the school community have relevant insight with basic concept of School Development and Investment Plan to International level School, the level program implementation is high in general and the program proved effective to improve students achievement especially in sciences and mathematics subjects. This fact is shown by the result of ANACOVA test which given F = 12,9 so far larger than critical value of F = 4,09 for level of significant 5% and 7,08 for level of significant 1%. This can be interpreted that the students achievement in science and mathematics who follow teaching and learning process in international program is different significantly from the achievement of students who follow the teaching-learning process in conventional program for the same subject. Objective achievement of the students in international program is better than the achievement of students in conventional program.
As implication of the conclusion we recommend the following thing : this program is reasonable to be continued, this program still need to be improved on some of it part which haven’t run effectively and it’s need to be evaluated continuously so every progress and every handicap is known exactly and earlier.
